Kanaan Communications, LLC Permit Coordinator in Snohomish, Washington

Overview and Essential Functions

CableCom is seeking a motivated, solution-orientated, self-starter to join our team as a Permit Coordinator. Successful candidates will have experience working on utility plans and be knowledgeable of construction standards and municipal ordinances. Ideal candidates would also have a background in CAD or an aptitude to learn computer aided design. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. After the initial training period, this will be a remote position, however, the candidate must be available to report to the Snohomish, Washington office as needed.

Pay Range: $20 - $23 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with construction management to create permit schedules that align with project construction schedules.

  • Experience or knowledge of State, Highway Department & Municipal requirements for CATV construction permitting processes.

  • Interface with numerous municipal building and roadway departments to complete permit application requests, coordinate work inspections and secure project completion approvals.

  • Deliver completed permit applications and fees to various municipal Public Works or business license departments to secure construction and right-of-way encroachment permits.

  • Prepare permit estimates and order check requests for permit fees associated with project.

  • Track and manage permits for multiple projects concurrently.

  • Cultivate positive working relationships with municipalities and other permitting entities.

  • Track all permits through their life cycle, ensuring all requirements are met to ensure timely processing to meet project deadlines through permit closure.

  • Must be willing to work shifts as assigned, including daily overtime when necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Desired attributes include: effective communicator, highly organized, forward thinking, goal orientated, problem solver, dependable.

  • Knowledge of typical aerial and underground utility construction practices.

  • Working knowledge of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) traffic control permitting requirements.

  • Organized and able to maintain tracking sheets. Knowledge of Smartsheet preferred.

  • Ability to create professional documents as needed.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks as assigned for the duration of the daily shift.

  • Standing - 2 to 4 hours daily.

  • Walking - 2 to 4 hours daily.

  • Sitting - 6 to 8 hours daily.

  • Driving - typically 4 to 6 hours daily.
