Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Utilities Engineer to join our engineering team in Manorhamilton Road. This position reports to the Engineering Services Manager. The Senior Utilities Engineer provides technical support and program management to all relevant functional departments across the site. You will manage/oversee the work of two other colleagues. The successful candidate will have ownership role of Utilities activities will be responsible for reducing standard product costs by successfully identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide engineering support to all Utilities and control system related issues. Tasks include, coordinate daily utilities activities for utilities team, daily trouble shooting, optimisation, cost reduction, training and coaching of Utilities processes personnel.
Coordinate Maintenance shutdown programme for the Abatement system (Thermal Oxidiser and Cryogenic plants), Wastewater plant and Utilities process non included in the FM program, Energy saving plans, Lead Capital Project for the Utility processes.
Monitor the operation of the Abatement system (Thermal Oxidiser and Cryogenic plants) and Utility processes, analysing failure history to determine reliability characteristics of systems, and develop long term solutions for re-occurring issues.
Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant maintenance is completed in a compliant manner.
Review maintenance and installation plans for new equipment, provide reliability and maintainability specifications for new procurements; develop support plans for new equipment.
Track, analyse and improve key Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) key performance indicators (KPI’s) parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, site maintenance compliance, schedule etc.
Apply knowledge in methods, RCA - A3 solving problems to prevent, eliminate, the likelihood or frequency of failures in site system and determining the use of predictive maintenance technologies.
Train employees in reliability processes, conduct supervision on the impact that the operators and technicians have on reliability. Support the plant support engineers with the next level of MEP to fully integrate MEP into the culture.
Perform internal audits on engineering systems, support external audits, and ensure adherence to company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
SME on the SolTRAQs, Engineering Change Control process to ensure there are no non-conformances relating to engineering change control, project, and Management of Change implementation.
Participate constructively as a member of the dept, keeping everyone informed and proactively share knowledge and expertise within the team.
Proficient in the use of Computer Management Maintenance system (Maximo), to create WO’s, new or update PM’s, new Asset’s, Inventories spare parts. SME on the Attaché Pro, Engineering SOP’s, PH forms, and QA documents updates.
Adhere to and support all EHS&E standards, procedures, and policies.
Verify that the work product conforms to the project’s requirements and meets design performance, safety and quality standards and complies with all regulatory requirements.
Review Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Equipment and Instrument Specifications, Instrument Lists (IL), Layout & Routing Diagrams, Installation Plans & Requirements.
Provide technical and engineering support on closing out of outstanding HAZOP actions for the Utility area.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors on the technical and engineering Utilities systems improvements and preventative maintenance services (SLA).
Provide Technical support on the conceptual design of the energy saving project for the Utility area.
Qualifications
Degree or higher qualification in chemical engineering, process engineering or related technical discipline
6 years’ experience in process engineering to include project management and commissioning.
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to deliver projects on
schedule, within budget, and meeting the predefined quality requirements.
