Role reports to: Director NA Transportation Ops

Location: Kenvue’s corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.

Travel %: 5%-10%

Pay: $ 113,000- $195,500

The NA Trade Compliance Sr. Manager is responsible for the NA Regional Trade Compliance program capabilities and enhancements to include implementing the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) program strategies in the NA region.

This individual is the primary point of contact in NA for the GTC team and has the responsibility for collaborating with US and Canada Trade Compliance leaders and Local Operating Company key stakeholders to deliver key performance metrics and multi-year strategic plans across the Consumer businesses. This individual creates forums for sharing knowledge and best practices within the region and with the GTC core team.

The NA Trade Compliance Sr. Manager is responsible for a 4-member team directly reporting into the role. The entire team is aligned to support US Operating Company Trade Compliance programs for entries of imported products in the US and Canada.

The NA Trade Compliance Sr. Manager and the Trade Compliance team develop local Trade Compliance strategies to comply with US regulations, mitigate risk to delays in the supply chain, and implement duty savings opportunities to include free trade agreements and duty drawback programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead People Development and Succession Planning associated with Trade Compliance team

  • Hire, train and develop the expertise of a diverse team of Trade Compliance professionals.

  • Foster employee engagement through encouraging an owner mindset and challenging established ways of thinking and working with a daring spirit.

  • Establish goals and priorities to meet dynamic business requirements.

  • Responsible for the long-term career development plans for each team member concurrent with the Performance and Development cycle

Global Trade Compliance Process Development & Roll Out

  • Lead NA efforts on the Regional Trade Compliance program team to develop regional process documentation, SOP/WI templates, and implement continuous improvement programs.

  • Collaborate with US and Canada Trade Compliance Leaders and provide a consolidated Trade Compliance performance dashboard and multi-year strategic plans.

  • Deploy process documentation across North America region of Kenvue to include the migration of new companies into the RTO Trade Compliance program.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing Trade Compliance processes to comply with new and existing US Customs Regulations, FDA, USDA and other applicable government agencies required for import and export clearance.

  • Ensure compliance program meets core compliance requirements of proper valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, record keeping and duty-free program eligibility in accordance with Customs Regulations

Import/Export Transaction Management

  • This role drives strategy for NA Trade Ops and leads team to execute import and export transactions in US and CA

  • Flawless execution of cross-border operations by team and third-party providers in accordance with the global trade compliance program

  • Ensure consistent implementation of cross-border operational data and technology strategies, both internally and with third-party providers, to optimize efficient and compliant trade flows.

  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through application best practices, KPIs, metrics and operational strategies.

Develop Compliance Future Capabilities

  • Grow regulatory agency partnerships and develop recommendations for Trade partnership programs with regulatory agencies to include security and self-assessment programs.

  • Develop Healthcare Consumer industry relationships and provide industry leadership on behalf of Kenvue.

  • Continuously benchmark and improve Trade Compliance program.

  • Define and deploy Trade Compliance technology solutions to enhance controls to comply with US regulations.

  • Lead internal change management and how to respond to the Customs and trade legislation changes that regularly occur to ensure that all departments are alerted to change, and necessary systems and procedures are updated.

  • Collaborate across regions to capitalize on duty savings programs to include preferential trade agreements, foreign trade zones, and duty drawback programs.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY AND ADDITIONAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Third-party compliance service provider relationships and performance

  • Manage Compliance Risks

  • Responsible for partnership with Kenvue Domestic and International Transportation teams, Kenvue Legal, and outside legal counsel for all Regulatory Compliance issues

  • Manage third-party compliance service provider relationships by setting performance expectations and holding compliance service providers accountable for performance. This includes organizing training opportunities for compliance service providers, developing documented procedures, and escalation plans to ensure compliance and accurate reporting of key performance metrics.

  • Develop Trade Compliance training program requirements.

  • Comply with Quality Standards to include prioritizing on-time completion of training requirements across the team.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required.

  • Licensed Customs Broker Required

  • 10 years of relevant Trade Compliance experience required.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization is critical for success. Multi-sector experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience in transportation related technology, security, compliance, and import/export processes required

  • Solid problem solving and analytical experience.

  • Strong partnering experience demonstrated by creating new relationships that drive cross-functional process improvements required

  • International Experience with Trade Compliance expertise required

  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to functional leaders in upper management and external partners.

  • Results oriented with strong track record of success in delivering on objectives.

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to embrace learning regulatory requirements.

EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL INTERACTIONS :

  • Majority of internal business contact will be with Global and NA Transportation Organization, Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Compliance, Supply Chain, Internal and External Manufacturing and distribution centers.

  • Primary external business contacts are with Customs brokers, third party Compliance providers and customs legal counsel.
