We’re looking for an amazing maintenance professional to fill this role, which is based in Skagway, AK. In this role you will be responsible for oversight of the maintenance and technical operations of the Holland America Skagway Inn. This will include the facility and neighbouring property owned by Holland America. You will also plan and execute preventative and repair maintenance, as well as provide recommendations for capital improvements while leading and managing a team within expectations and goals of department and hotel operations.

Responsibilities:
Manage hotel maintenance activities on a daily basis.
Outline and manage LMMS system and safety training for Full Time and seasonal team
Apply knowledge of equipment, systems and facilities maintenance to include carpentry, HVAC, mechanical and groundskeeping, water system compliance, and provide guidance to the team.
Assists in preparation of and manages annual and monthly departmental budget.
Oversees the maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, daily maintenance requests, HESS & SAY initiatives, and the Preventative maintenance program.
Works with other departments to ensure equipment is functioning in a safe manner.
Provides regular training to team members in line with HAP guidelines.
Scheduled and maintains vendor relations for required preventative maintenance and inspections.
Participates in daily/weekly Manager on Duty program.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School completion or equivalent required. Professional level of knowledge in facilities maintenance management equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree preferred. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
Four years of progressively responsible positions in hotel property or facilities maintenance.
Licensed in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing or HVAC preferred.
Experience in managing Union Team members preferred.
Current, valid AK driver's license. Must be willing to be part of our random alcohol and drug testing program.
Proficiency in the use of computer business applications (Microsoft platforms).
The ability to prioritize work, support time constraints, meet deadlines, supervise and lead team and work with guest requests/inquiries.
The ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees, management and guests.
Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.
Must be able to frequently bend, stand, kneel, climb ladders, reach below and above shoulders, and crawl.
This role requires regular movement throughout company facilities, may need to stand for long periods of time.
The ability to support and comply with all company policies, procedures, guidelines, and safety standards, both at work and in housing (if applicable).
Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.
The ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Must be able to travel up to 10%
Forklift driver certification is required within six months of employment (in-house). Random drug screening and a valid driver’s license for the operation of a motor vehicle with a clean driving record for the past three years.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout PCL and HAL facilities, may need to stand for long periods of time
Must be comfortable to work both inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes.
Must be able to work beyond normal business hours, including a different shift. Weekend hours may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, and/or operations.
