Great Place Construction (GPC) is looking for aSKILLED COMMERCIAL TRADESMAN to join our busy and growing team!

FULL-TIME YEAR-ROUND POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR SKILLED CARPENTERS

Monday through Friday schedule - No Weekends.

Paid Travel Time in Company Vehicles. Work is generally within 1 to 2 hours of Sioux Falls.

Great Place Construction is a private construction firm that specializes in commercial design/build projects. We need reliable, skilled commercial construction tradesmen to join our team! If you are hardworking with any number of commercial construction skill sets we want you!

ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES– you are coming in on the ground floor, work for us and move up as we grow.

We are looking to hire team members that may have experience with any of this type of work. You don’t have to have it all – we will train for you.

  • Fitting and Installing window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.

  • Erecting scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.

  • Reading blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.

  • Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.

  • Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.

  • Assembling and fastening materials to make frameworks or props deleting props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.

  • Removing damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.

  • Inspecting ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.

  • Moving necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.

  • Keeping a clean worksite free of debris.

  • Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Strong math skills

  • Reliable and Good Attitude

  • 2-4 years of experience in commercial or residential carpentry

  • Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications

  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as strong desire to be safe and follow safety rules.
