Looking for an individual with leadership experience ready to support multiple locations!

Manager will join of team of 6 managers and will support multiple Primary Care locations.

Hours primarily Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Position will require reliable transportation and the ability to travel to locations across the city.

Job Summary

The Patient Access Manager leads the successful transition of specific registration processes to help ensure the continuous improvement of business processes to be best practice, meet agreed service levels and excel in process efficiency and effectiveness within multiple Sanford Departments. Serves as an expert on patient access workflows and applies advanced understanding of admissions, discharges, and transfers (ADT) issues and "span of control" in the registration areas. Utilizes extensive knowledge of health care related practices, concepts, regulatory and legal requirements to guide department workflow and meet end user needs. Analyzes and modifies workflows to achieve desired outcomes and maximizes efficiencies. Assists department management team with procedural changes related to work flows and ADT modules. Assists in policy development and ensures compliance.

Leads process improvement and related change management initiatives to achieve operational excellence. Plans and implements new processes. Prepares new policies and protocols. Facilitates change process and serves as liaison to educate and socialize new processes to increase adoption of new practices and achieve organizational/department goals. Collects and compiles data; assesses accuracy and validity of data. Interprets data and creates accurate, useful, and timely reports. Follows up on missing information provided by quality audits.

Manages projects and teams involved in research of existing operations, procedures, workflow, and service requirements within Patient Access. Monitors project progress, provides status updates to leadership, and removes barriers to project implementation. Ensures projects are completed accurately and within the established time lines. Accountable for the adherence to established project deadlines and budgetary limitations. Compiles project data and supplies feedback regarding projects. Coordinates training for new workflows and/or processes.

Works with leadership to address staffing issues, service excellence and employee satisfaction issues. Maintains appropriate staffing levels. Orients, trains, schedules, evaluates, and provides ongoing education and staff development opportunities for areas of responsibility. Conducts coaching and corrective action with staff, as needed. Utilizes appropriate techniques to motivate team. Leads cross-functional team(s) in issue resolution, process improvement, and change management. Assists in defining, developing, and implementing learning plans that support achievement of strategic initiatives.

Strong management skills and assertive, visible leadership style. Ensures that resources are focused on priorities that matter to departmental objectives. Accountable for attainment of department and section goals by distributing work in areas of responsibilities in order to achieve desired goals. Establishes and monitors productivity metrics, emphasizing accuracy and completion of work within established timeframes. Assists with budget development and managing accounting units to ensure productivity measures are met. Skillful in effective meeting management.

Requires use of critical thinking and problem solving to make decisions and adapt to changing priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Flexibility, creativity and a willingness to implement new ideas. Serves as a role model for staff in professionalism, attitude, knowledge, demeanor and execution of duties. Promotes a positive working environment within department and across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; health-related or business field preferred.

Three years of supervisory experience required; five years preferred. Must possess knowledge of health insurance.
