As an entry level engineer at HEI, you will begin your career working alongside Professional Engineers who will provide mentorship and guidance through a variety of projects. These projects will serve as a solid foundation for your future career as a civil engineer. Some of those projects include civil engineering projects, water resources studies, public drainage system design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and storm water planning. :::

Job Description
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of watersheds and riverine systems.
  • Support field investigations including the collection and analysis of data used to support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Prepare floodplain and watershed studies in compliance with FEMA standards and specifications.
  • Execute GIS-based one dimensional and two-dimensional flood risk modeling software applications such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SWMM.
  • Support civil design projects with analysis including feasibility of alternative designs, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Prepare project reports including engineering calculations, planning, and drafting technical engineering reports, research, and data entry. :::

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Experience with ArcGIS and HEC-RAS is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with stormwater management, earthwork and grading plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, and clients.
  • Superior task management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, following-up, and keeping project information organized.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid drivers license with availability for periodic travel.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position. :::
