Department Details

We are a small team that works within the entire footprint of Good Samaritan. We have a variety of projects from new construction to remodeling to low voltage systems we work on. It can be a fast paced environment with some time to catch up. We have a lot of long term employees. Hours are Mon- Friday with light travel depending on the project.

Job Summary

Leads all new construction and remodeling projects for designated areas within the Sanford organization.

Responsible for leading project design, estimating, project management, purchasing, cost accounting and code compliance. Oversees construction progress, ensuring that timing, costs and contract requirements are adhered to. Oversees construction, building equipment installation, renovation and redesigning projects. Oversees all phases in the project life cycle including pre-design, programming, design, construction and occupancy phases. Effectively communicates and advises end-users on project scope, schedule and budget, reviewing designs, equipment specifications/substitutions, purchasing and accounting procedures. Reviews contractor and architectural drawings for code compliance, as well as Sanford design standards, involving regulatory bodies' requirements, i.e. City, State, International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and in some areas, Joint Commission (TJC).

Responsible for maintaining compliance with safety, asbestos, infection control, and other applicable policies. Demonstrates familiarity with electrical/mechanical systems. May also oversee contractors within the project. Develops and designs feasibility studies for review. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

In addition to responsibilities above, the Construction Project Manager within Profile by Sanford, will work closely with the New Store Development Team to manage the design and construction of new and remodeled store buildouts. Also, will work closely with the real estate team to review leases and provide feedback on new store locations and tenant work letters. Responsible for all phases of construction, including but not limited to: assemble and issue invitations for bids to general contractors, analyze and prepare bid tabulations for presentation, organize and maintain schedule, monitor construction progress, distribute progress reports, perform closeout inspection and documentation, and process draw requests. Will also require the use of AutoCAD to assist with conceptual store layouts and small remodels. Works closely with vendor and material suppliers to schedule delivery and install of material. Some travel will be required to review progress, if needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field required.

Three years' experience managing construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, mechanical and electrical, and HVAC building systems. Demonstrated computer skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of design principles, scheduling, construction means and methods and codes. Ability to create, maintain, and manage schedules and critical timelines. Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with architects, contractors, and vendors.

Specifically to Profile by Sanford experience requirements include minimum two years previous work experience, preferably in retail construction. Proficient in AutoCAD.

Must maintain a valid driver's license.
