Our Americas Distribution Services Division (ADSD) provides governance and administration of Cat® dealers across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. Caterpillar currently has an opportunity for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in Singapore.
Job Summary
You will aid in the development of operational excellence, service capacity and capability, and services growth. The Service Excellence team optimizes the useability and reliability of service events data, activates this information, and enables the enterprise to understand, measure, and improve dealer performance.
This role will be focused on activating information through efficient reporting and effective visualization. It will include heavy use of SQL within Snowflake environments and common visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
What You Will Do:
This role gathers, organizes, and reports on data from across the organization with the purpose of provide information and insights that lead to action.
Focus will be on Service Events and Information data domain and will include work order, inspection, fluid analysis, warranty and other related data sets.
What You Have:
Query and Database Access Tools: Knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.
• Writes, debugs and implements complex queries involving multiple tables or databases.
• Works with aggregate functions, complex joins, groupings, dynamic and embedded SQL's (Structured Query Languages).
• Consults on query optimization, interactive queries, testing and verification.
Visualization and Reporting: knowledge of techniques and tools for visualization and communication
• Creates visualizations for data sets using common tools and platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Create and modify database structure to support consumption for reporting
• Modify and evolve previous created reports and visualization
• Manage access to and security to created reports
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.
• Productively balances speed and accuracy.
• Implements a variety of cross-checking approaches and mechanisms.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
• Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.
• Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.
• Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand.
• Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.
What Will Set You Apart:
Experience using PowerBI or Tableau
Experience using SQL
Experience with large data sets; including visualization, querying
