Military Sealift Command SAFETY OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in Singapore, Singapore

Summary You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the Chief of Staff (N02), Force Safety Office (N02FS), located at MSC Far East Area Command, Singapore of MSC SHIP SUPPORT UNIT SINGAPORE. Responsibilities You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health(SOH) Manager, managing and administering Military Sealift Command (MSC) SOH programs, including personnel safety, Shipboard Safety Assessments, Building Safety, etc. You will support the MSC implementation and oversight of a Safety Management System (SMS) to comply with MSC's SOH program for ashore and afloat activities. You will use Operational Risk Management (ORM) processes to identify, describe, and respond to potential emergency shipboard situations. You will perform safety investigations and direct the systematic compilation and analysis of mishap data, hazards, and risk analyses, interpreting and evaluating this data to develop appropriate controls to mitigate hazards. You will prepare and present technical reports and papers on safety issues that influence MSCs SMS and their impact on operating ships and/or new ship acquisitions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and administering complex organizational safety and occupational health programs covering multiple domains (e.g., ashore and afloat operational risk management, industrial safety & occupational health regulatory compliance, etc). Regular field work requires recurring physical exertion related to periodic inspections and surveys, which may require prolonged periods of walking, standing, reaching, bending and climbing. Occasionally, there may be a need to lift and carry moderately heavy objects. The work requires some degree of agility and dexterity when, for example, it involves visiting a ship or shore facility.
