Life & Health Reinsurance Account Manager, Asia

What the day will look like

  • A core member of Aon’s Asia Life & Health reinsurance team, reporting to the Head of Life & Health Reinsurance for South East Asia.

  • In collaboration with the broking and broking support colleagues from the regional team in Singapore and the various in-country teams across Asia enable execution of reinsurance transactions/ consulting engagements through:

  • Preparation and review of information submissions to facilitate reinsurance transactions for our clients

  • Participation in the reinsurance quotation process, reinsurance proposal sourcing and negotiations with our reinsurance partners

  • Generation and review of contractual documentation (including contract wordings, endorsements and evidence of cover) – this includes preparation of new and renewal reinsurance contracts, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements (cedant and reinsurer), guidelines and recommending areas for improvement

  • Stay on top of the reinsurance placement process by liaising with the team and stakeholders across departments to ensure treaty completion

  • Maintain treaty information database, enabling delivery of contract advice and guidance to clients and/or broking teams, and resolution of contract related queries from clients and reinsurers, liaising with colleagues within other departments as necessary

  • Preparation and coordination of client engagement / contracts documentations as well NDAs with trading partners on business in scope

  • Proactive management of the team’s pipeline information for business planning and management reporting

  • Provide training/ knowledge sharing to colleagues on the above matters

  • In collaboration with the technical accounting teams:

  • Review and check the technical accounts provided by clients, support resolution of related queries from clients and reinsurers where necessary

  • Produce management information reports to support the business planning process. This includes tracking of business results

  • Population and maintenance of data within Aon’s systems

  • Adherence to the standards, procedures and best practices of Aon Singapore to ensure MAS and other regulatory compliance

  • Assist the broader Life & Health APAC leadership team with ongoing strategy & financial reporting, as well bespoke technical or operational queries

    How this opportunity is different

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Regional Life & Health Reinsurance team servicing our clients in Asia. In this role, the new team member will take an integral part in the development of our Life & Health Reinsurance business in Asia Pacific, with a particular focus on South East Asian and South Asian markets. The role will consist in providing and coordinating the technical (accounts, wording) and administrative support for the Asia Life & Health Reinsurance team in placing and servicing of both Life & Health Reinsurance contracts.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline (LLB or BBA, Accounting, Finance preferred)

  • Prior 7 to 10 years of experience within the Life & Health Reinsurance field

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and track projects through to completion

  • Independent, analytical and pro-active

  • Self-motivated, holds oneself accountable and takes ownership for problem resolution - resourceful

  • A team player – able to communicate in a dynamic team environment
