We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We're looking for a NPI Assembly Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams on Product DfX, including Design-for-Manufacturability, Design-for-Quality, Design-for-Reliability, Design-for-Cost.

  • Work with Engineering, NPI and consumer electronic contract manufacturers to achieve best-in-class yields, throughput and cost.

  • Engage contract manufacturer and Engineering to ensure operational readiness for prototype builds and production.

  • Establish and drive technology roadmap for manufacturing processes and technologies.

  • Identify, root-cause, and resolve issues affecting throughput, product performance, yield, and reliability for prototype and production builds.

  • Design, guide and review manufacturing, test, and reliability fixtures

  • Provide in-factory manufacturing engineering support for prototype builds.

  • Provide verbal and written technical status on ongoing builds and issues.

  • Estimated travel 20-35%

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Manufacturing or engineering background in consumer electronics or wearable electronic products. Expertise in mechanical assembly, liquid glue dispense/cure, assembly fixture best practices and design, and assembly automation.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and application of statistics in manufacturing. Includes design-of-experiments, process capability, gauge R&R, ANOVA, FMEAs, problem solving

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (mechanical, electro-mechanical, optical, material science) or equivalent years of experience

  • 5+ years working in consumer electronics manufacturing with respect to model assembly, electronics testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working collaboratively with both internal and external partners, domestic and overseas

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in both Mandarin and English

  • Proficient in designing fixtures and components in CAD tools such as NX or Creo.

  • Six Sigma green belt or black belt certification
