In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provides technical field support for IDT’s Gene Reading Portfolio (consisting Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Oligo/qPCR) or new emerging Gene Reading applications in which xGen / IDT products may be employed, regarding product design, customer training and end use

  • Assist Sales to identify, convert and support potential/existing customers by working on pre-sales proposal and presentation to achieve financial objective

  • Represents IDT’s products to the customers at large, including presentations of established technologies at industry trade shows, doing demonstrations, bake offs

  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure the value of the Gene Reading product portfolio is communicated clearly and effectively to customers and channel partners

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Applications Support, and Customer Care to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field); or PhD preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experimental design, optimization, troubleshooting and wet lab hands-on experience in Molecular Biology and NGS application.

  • NGS Assay Development and constructing libraries for NGS

  • Expert background in molecular bench techniques (library prep, PCR and target enrichment) including three or more years of experience using major NGS platforms (short read or long read sequencer)

  • Strong public speaking and presentation experience

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Automation laboratory procedure setup e.g. writing programs/scripts

  • NGS Bioinformatics, targeted sequencing analysis

Travel Requirements: around 50% within the defined territory
