JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the Global Design Team, the incumbent is responsible to ensure Marriott International’s Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP)Design Standards for New Built and Conversion Hotels are implemented in Asia Pacific Excluding China. Supporting the Project Manager from Global Design Project team, he/she is to work closely with and provide guidance to the hotel’s ownership team and consultants, from design to implementation, till final handover to the hotel operation’s team.

A key responsibility of the role is to stay updated with the latest standards provided from Marriott International’s HQ and streamline MEP strategies across regions and ensuring best practices are implemented.

The incumbent will also be expected to lead a team of third-party (MEP) consultants that are located in various regions within APEC.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Engineering Degree, specializing in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • At least 15 years of experience in the build environment specially on hospitality projects. Experience working in a hotel environment is a plus.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

New Build and Conversion Project Work

  • Part of the Marriott International Global Design Project team to support new-built and conversion projects.

  • Review and critique MEP design submissions from owner’s team and ensure that MI’s brand requirements are adhered to.

  • Conduct site inspections as required.

  • Conduct handover inspections, including providing handover reports to the hotel team once the property is in the pre-opening phase.

  • For conversion projects, conduct property inspections and create Property Improvement Plans (PIP).

  • Get updated design requirements from MI HQ.

Other Responsibilities

  • Organize and plan for resources to support the MEP discipline for all projects in APEC.

  • Review and approve claims submissions from 3 rd party consultants.

  • Work with Operations Engineering teams to align with their requirements.
