The Director of Consumer Marketing is responsible for step changing the way we acquire and engage with consumers across PayPal’s rapidly emerging growth markets: India, Brazil, Japan and Mexico. The ideal candidate will be equal parts leader, strategist, creative, communicator, and analyst with a demonstrated track record of driving trans-formative growth across key customer life stages, particularly acquisition and engagement metrics.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the Strategic Marketing Plan for the consumer business across PayPal’s rapidly emerging growth markets: India, Brazil, Japan and Mexico, to align investment and allocation of resources with the best opportunities for growth

  • Drive an insight led, customer first approach to the development of Consumer acquisition strategies across owned, earned and paid channels in collaboration with the country marketing teams

  • Partner with the country marketing leadership and their teams to execute marketing programs across all stages of the customer funnel.

  • Deliver outstanding work that delights, engages and wins the hearts and minds of customers while delivering on commercial targets

  • Partner with the BU and Finance and Analytics to define the customer metrics by which the International Markets will define future success

  • Support the Merchant Services team to deliver on sales targets through Trade Marketing, Merchant Partnerships and Thought Leadership to inspire and engage prospective customers

  • Effectively build codependent partnerships with the country marketing team and play a thought leadership role in driving marketing best practice with the regional and global marketing communities

  • Play a thought leadership role on the International Marketing Leadership Team in setting the strategic direction and priorities of the International Markets portfolio while providing strong figurehead leadership qualities across the broader business.

  • Manage, mentor and inspire the International Marketing Team to achieve their goals, to contribute to the business and to develop, learn and grow while they build a successful marketing career at PayPal.

  • Lead and Manage a team of four Country Marketing Leaders

  • Immerse in the dynamics and teams of all countries with regular travel

  • Help define how we achieve localization in a scalable way for the Australian Market Archetype

Experience and Skills (the what)

  • 15+ years marketing experience

  • Degree qualified in Business, Commerce and/or Marketing (preferred not mandatory)

  • Highly analytical, commercially oriented and motivated by business impact

  • Strategic vision that is seamlessly transitioned into an executional plan

  • Highly structured, with strong planning and organizing skills. Strong prioritization skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in driving organizational change management programs

  • Seasoned people leader and manager

  • Experience in working in a global matrixed environment

  • Can work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, high change agility

  • Motivated by enabling others’ success and experience in business partnering
