Purpose of the position

Kalmar is expanding its internal competencies in critical locations, and we are looking for an experienced, and self-motivated IT technician to join the Kalmar IM Operations and Business Support team to work as a country IT coordinator in Singapore.

You will work in an international environment, where you will be responsible for the onsite end user IT support, local IT infrastructure, and many other IT related topics. You will be working closely with our outsourcing partners to ensure ‘best of class’ end-user support and continuously work on improving the end-user experience. The position is based in our office in Singapore and there are also other locations in Singapore which you will support both remotely and on-site when needed.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • 2nd/3rd level end-user support, diagnosis and investigation, and prolonged hands & feet for the Global Service Desk.

  • Incident monitoring for the locations under your responsibility

  • Local server and infrastructure support to ensure normal operations

  • Server and storage management, replacements & On-Prem to cloud migrations.

  • Improving our local ICT infrastructure, e.g switches, connectivity.

  • Data backup.

  • Ensure a secure, safe and tidy environment for server rooms and racks.

  • Telephony and mobile device support. (procurement/subscriptions).

  • Documentation of local applications, servers, and infrastructure is in place and maintained (knowledge management + CMDB).

  • Drive process improvements together with internal teams and our outsourcing partners to improve service delivery.

  • Ensure that global policies and procedures are followed.

  • Participate as a technical resource in global and regional projects like office moves, acquisitions and divestment activities etc.

  • Other aligned activities to improve the end-user experience.

What you’ll need to succeed

Minimum 3 years of experience in technical IT support roles.

  • Having experience of working in a global organization is preferred.

  • Team player with broad technical IT knowledge

  • Strong knowledge in Network, Workstations, Server, Virtualization, Mobile phones, VoIP

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to ‘step into the end-user’s shoes’ and the attitude ‘I am here to help you’.

  • Be able to deeply understand users' needs and be able to communicate with different stakeholders.

  • Express yourself fluently in English language, in writing and verbally.

Success criteria:

  • You support the end-users with a positive and helpful attitude and have built connections to key stakeholders.

  • You have detailed knowledge and enabled a stable local IT infrastructure environment which is well documented.

  • You have understanding of the application usage for the locations you are responsible for.

  • You are dynamic, willing to learn and adapt to changes.

  • You are a team player and prove to be in good collaboration with business stakeholders, IM organization and our Service Providers.
