POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates day to day manufacturing operations within the individual Workcell and Department. Basic functions include planning, scheduling, resource allocation, interviewing, staffing, and employee relations. Acts as a coach and facilitator and builds a shared responsibility work team through development of individual and team skills and competencies by continuously moving responsibility for control and coordination out into the work groups. Also is involved with special projects and with the development and delivery of new products and assemblies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, communicates, and implements short term plans consistent with organizational and business unit goals. Includes expense and capital budgeting, resource planning, goal setting, and prioritizing and managing time.
Applies a wide variety of manufacturing concepts and tools towards development of a functional manufacturing organization to meet overall business goals.
Creates an environment that stimulates new ideas, provides effective work direction and motivation, sets challenging work goals through personal growth, respect, trust, and empowerment of the individual.
Facilitates skills growth opportunities in order to build individual and team skill levels to the point needed by the current and future organization.
Represents company policies, procedures, and practices to employees and customers in a responsible, professional manner.
Assist Manager for personnel decisions regarding employee hiring, discipline, and terminations. Utilizes the AE performance appraisal process to facilitate and strengthen individual performance. Fosters individual development plans that are self-directed and that unite personal aspirations with the needs of the business.
Develops and implements structures that promote work team ownership of continuous improvement and corrective action processes.
Works cross-functionally with Production Planning, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, and other key interfaces to review, analyze, and optimize new and existing product and processes.
Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat
Works in a fast-paced engineering / manufacturing lab environment.
Works under limited supervision.
Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment.
Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
Require working in day and night shift based on shift assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing.
Ability and willingness to engage and effectively resolve difficult conflict situations.
Ability to read and write in English.
Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, material demand, key human resource requirements.
Ability to collaborate and involve others in decision-making and problem solving.
Ability to organize, schedule, coordinate, and negotiate effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment.

Knowledge of demand-based manufacturing systems.
Excellent PC skills, including MS Standard Office.
EXPERIENCE:
3 to 5 years’ experience in a high mix/high volume, manufacturing environment.
Experience with high performance, self-directed work teams preferred.
Technical background in electronics/ electricals is required.
EDUCATION:
Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or education
