Description:

The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator leads, manages and coordinates research programs and studies for the Clinical Research Program and physician Principal Investigators. Provides nursing leadership in accordance with protocol requirements, physicians’ orders, and applicable medical center policies and procedures; and performs related work as required. Adheres to Federal and State regulations and sponsor guidelines. Ensures hospital compliance with required terms and conditions for final and ongoing approval to participate in the study.

Position Type: This is a PRN position - Per Diem

The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator leads, manages and coordinates research programs and studies for the Clinical Research Program and physician Principal Investigators. Adheres to Federal and State regulations and sponsor guidelines. Ensures hospital compliance with required terms and conditions for final and ongoing approval to participate in the study.

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

Bachelor’s Degree required, BSN strongly preferred, MSN strongly preferred. Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner Clinical Research Certification preferred.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

Sufficient healthcare nursing experience: 3-5 years nursing; prefer active practice within the past 5 years. Experience in leading or coordinating clinical research studies, preferred. Experience in Oncology. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of persona computers, data base procedures, spreadsheet software and word processing software Ability to accurately collect and record clinical information from the medical record efficiently; to organize data in computer program for report generation. Ability to plan and implement recruitment campaigns. Ability to coordinate the activities of a multidisciplinary research team including physicians. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ability to delegate tasks to support staff.
