Job Description

The Copeland Global Director - Indirect Procurement is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services that do not directly contribute to the production of goods or services sold by the company. This role includes managing procurement strategies, controlling costs, ensuring supplier performance and aligning procurement activities with the overall business objectives.

As A Global Director - Indirect Procurement, You Will:

Developing Procurement Strategies:

  • Align procurement strategies with the company's overall business goals

  • Establish global procurement policies and strategies for indirect categories (e.g., IT, marketing, HR services, offices supplies, legal)

  • Manage varies indirect commodites regionally and globally

Supplier Management

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supplier consolidation.

  • Leverage global contracts and negotiate favorable terms.

  • Implement and manage savings initiatives across the business.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the indirect procurement team with fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration

  • Set clear goals and KPIs for the team and ensure accountability for results

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including operations, finance, legal and IT to ensure alignment and integration across the supply chain

Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address any inefficiencies or issues.

  • Report on supply chain performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements related to supply chain operations.

  • Manage the impact of global events, such as capacity shifts, market shifts, natural disruptions, and social/political impacts on the supply chain.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or a related field

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract law, supplier relationship management, and the ability to lead cross-functional geographically dispersed teams

  • 10+ years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain management or related areas with a global scope, with at least 5 years in a Senior leadership role

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that drive operational excellence

  • Strong understanding of supply chain technologies, including ERP systems

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams

  • Ability to travel between 10-25% domestic/global travel to Copeland locations/suppliers

  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree

Flexible Work Schedule – Hybrid Work Option and Core Hours

This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work from home option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
