General Expectations
Knowledge and Requirements
1-2 years previous experience in diesel mechanics or related field
High school diploma or equivalent required
Firm knowledge of safe practices and expectations while maintaining equipment
Technical training preferred
Effective time management skills
Highly self motivated
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds infrequently
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 100 pounds occasionally
Work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call
General Outline of Duties
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs on diesel heavy trucks, trailers and heavy equipment
Performs scheduled and preventative maintenance repairs of equipment:
Oil changes
Chassis lube
Tire maintenance
Foundation brake system repair
Heavy suspension repair
Alignments
Conducts electrical diagnostic with limited supervision:
Engine diagnostic
ABS diagnostic
Electrical system diagnostic
Fuel and lubes Warehousing equipment daily
Assists with various projects and functions as assigned or requested by management for all departments within Adams
Accurately complete written record for work performed
Maintain condition and possession of company tools and equipment
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Maintain a clean working area as directed to comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations
Obtain and maintain own required tools to perform required maintenance and service
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with company policy to achieve the overall objectives of position and expectations of supervisors
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action when necessary or suggests alternative courses of action to be taken
