A2Z STAFFING SOLUTIONS Traffic Data Collection Technician in SIDNEY, Montana
Seasonal Position in Sidney Montana from June to Mid September 2024 Job description: Are you interested in using data to improve traffic flow and enhance public safety? Do you enjoy working with technology and analyzing information? If so, this role might be for you! We are looking for a tech to join our summer session starting June 17th with interviews starting early June. Duties and Responsibilities * Safely drive a cargo van to conduct traffic counts in support of Montana's short-term traffic count program * Program specialized traffic counting equipment, safely lay out and properly secure traffic tubing on roadways, and correctly set up and secure traffic cameras * Work in all weather conditions and alongside roadways; maintain personal and public safety while exposed to varying roadside environments as well as high volume and high-speed traffic * Hours of daily driving to count site locations with some overnight travel required * Ensure established data collection practices are adhered to * Extensive use of laptop and tablet; use various software applications to upload traffic count data * Review data for completeness and accuracy * Investigate and resolve simple discrepancies and transfer more complex issues to appropriate upper level staff * Promptly submit documents such as vehicle usage slips and timesheets by their weekly or bi-weekly deadlines Required knowledge, skills, and abilities * Self-motivated, self-accountable, and works well independently with minimal supervision * Ability to clearly and effectively communicate via email (Microsoft Outlook) and by telephone * Coachable, energetic, and eager to learn * Ability to start the workday early (5:00am) when necessary * Ability to work more than 8 hours a day * Technical and analytical skills; works effectively and efficiently * Be accountable for the van, equipment, and resources that are issued Minimum qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * Valid driver's license * Must pass criminal background check, drug testing, and MVD record check * Must meet auto insurance requirements Job Types: Full-time, Temporary Pay: $19.96 per hour Schedule: * Mostly an 8 hour shift position requires overnight stay for longer travel, Overtime work hours may apply on occasion * Monday to Friday License/Certification: * Driver's License (Required) Ability to Commute: * Sidney, MT 59270 (Preferred)
