Minimum Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related Science field such as microbiology, immunology, histo-technology, immunohematology, etc.Must also have a Certificate in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Sciences
Or
Associate's degree with a Certificate in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
Experience with molecular diagnostic techniques is preferred.
Out-of-State applicants must have proof of application as a candidate for acceptance as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist, as granted by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME)
Desired:
- Preferred at least 3 years of experience as a medical technician or medical specialist

Job Summary:
Medical Laboratory Technicians/Scientists perform patient testing and other clinical laboratory procedures that range in their degree of technicality, from simple to highly complex. These professionals generate data required for proper patient diagnoses and treatment of disease. Responsibilities include performance of clinical assays and quality control measures, as well as analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results. In addition to specific clinical laboratory training, the ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the verbal and written skills necessary to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of personnel on the healthcare team.
