Emerson Plant Electrician - 2nd Shift in Sherman, Texas

If you are an electrician looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sherman, TX location, you will provide function support to install and maintain electrical work on plant electrical systems and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for all electrical services at Emerson- Sherman.

  • Fully plans and installs 120/240/480-volt electrical services which conform to city and NEC codes as required to ensure the safety of all employees and equipment.

  • Responsible for other maintenance duties such as LAN installations, phone lines, plumbing repairs and the repair of electrical/mechanical devices including but not limited to: Production machines, Assembly test equipment, Equipment assigned to the building such as boilers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.

  • Must work closely with Non-Product Buyer and factory technicians as required.

  • Must follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Two-year technical degree focused on the repair of electrical, mechanical, telecommunications or network installations.

  • Must be able to provide proof of active journeyman’s electrical license for Grayson County.

  • Must be currently qualified for 120/240/480 voltage electrical installations.

  • Minimum of 2 years hands on experience installing 120/240/480 voltage in manufacturing facility.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the following areas: HVAC systems; Telecommunications; Electrical Circuits; Mechanical Systems; Air Compressors & Hydraulics; PLC basics.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in OSHA regulations pertaining to electrical installations.

  • Demonstrate hands on working knowledge of test equipment including but not limited to megameters, digital multimeters, mechanical gauges, and indicators.

  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret maintenance prints and electrical schematics.

  • Must be able to obtain a mobile equipment license to operate all mobile equipment within 2 months of hire.

  • Demonstrate the ability to use a personal computer.

  • Flexibility in work hours; available to work occasional to frequent overtime.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
