Philips Senior Software Engineer in Shenzhen, China

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Be an integral part of the monitoring solutions development team and have the opportunity to work with the group of world-class, Software Engineers who develop products that help save lives all over the world.

You are responsible for

  • Establishes and communicates critical high-level functional and non-functional requirements

  • Defines high-level system/items/units (for example components) and their interfaces, creating well defined building blocks, system options and scenarios

  • Delivers an optimal and consolidated architecture / design

  • Influences and drives an accepted implementation of architecture

  • Ensures good and up to date documentation of the architecture and implementation

  • Works with the scrum team to finalize the design of the user story and its alignment to the overall architecture

  • Supports in backlog grooming and release planning for agile development

  • Jointly responsible for code review, code quality and just in time technical design

  • Guides and coaches the development team on design and might conduct code development activities

You are a part of

A global, cross-functional technical team responsible for the design, development, and implementation of monitoring product solutions, a key player in Philips global R&D organization.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Software, Computer technology, or related disciplines

  • Typically, more than 6 years of software development experience, experience in medical device industry preferred

  • Experience as lead developer, software designer of at least 3 years

  • Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and experience in coding in C/C++ languages

  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture

  • Excellent knowledge of embedded Linux

  • Excellent knowledge of principles of computer system

  • Understanding of software quality assurance principles

  • Familiar with basic healthcare standards and protocols (e.g. Dicom, HL7)

  • With years of oversea living and working experience, adapting culture diversity working environment

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
