Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking an experienced risk professional, possessing 4-6 years of experience administering risk, claims and insurance programs, to assist the Director of Risk Management with the implementation, administration and management of Hubbell’s global Risk Management program. We are looking for an analytical, innovative and solutions-oriented risk professional with the desire and ability to identify efficiencies and drive improvements while handling the day-to-day tasks of an active risk management function.

A Day In The Life

  • Assist with the renewal and administration of Hubbell’s global insurance program, including property, casualty, executive protection, and liability policies.

  • Compile, analyze, validate and maintain risk exposure data from internal contacts for insurance renewals and audits.

  • Review insurance binders, policies, and endorsements for accuracy.

  • Assist with due diligence regarding insurance and risk profile of acquisition targets.

  • Assist with the integration of insurance programs of acquired companies.

  • Collect and validate data for annual insurance budget plan, allocation of costs and quarterly actuarial studies.

  • Assist with the management and administration of Hubbell’s captive insurance program, risk pooling arrangements and claim reserving.

  • Partner with the Legal Department, field contacts, and insurance adjusters to report and manage claims and litigation involving product liability, employment, workers’ compensation, automobile, cargo, commercial and regulatory matters.

  • Manage mandatory Medicare claim reporting processes.

  • Coordinate review of customer and vendor contracts for compliance with insurance requirements.

  • Manage insurance-related invoice review, approval and processing.

  • Assist with management of property loss control program and safety programs.

  • Provide analyses and responses to internal coverage and claims handling questions.

  • Maintain, manage and leverage Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS), insurance and claim databases.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements, including electronic risk exposure data collection, review, and storage, and creation of standard work documents.

  • Perform other risk management and insurance-related duties, as assigned.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, risk management or a quantitative field.

  • At least 4 to 6 years of work experience in risk management and commercial insurance (property, casualty, liability, and other lines) within a corporate risk management department, for an insurance broker, or at a property casualty insurance company.

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, teamwork, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage simultaneous tasks, meet tight deadlines, take initiative, and drive work to conclusion.

  • Information technology savvy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Professional insurance and risk management designation a plus.
