Robert Half Plant Controller in Shelbyville, Indiana

Description We are offering a challenging role in the Plastics Manufacturing industry, located in SHELBYVILLE, Indiana. The role is for a Plant Controller who will be essential in overseeing cost and inventory accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, journal entries, and demonstrating strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of cost and inventory accounting for the manufacturing facility

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of accounting entries

• Carry out regular reconciliation of accounts to ensure financial integrity

• Prepare and post journal entries in line with accounting standards

• Utilize Excel for financial analysis and reporting tasks

• Implement and maintain ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems for efficient financial operations

• Oversee all accounting functions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Participate in budget processes and contribute to financial planning initiatives

• Apply manufacturing industry knowledge to improve financial processes and operations

• Utilize knowledge of Cost Accounting to inform financial decision-making and strategy. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Plastics Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Demonstrated experience in managing Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Budget Processes in a manufacturing environment

• Expertise in Manufacturing operations and related financial management

• Strong knowledge of Cost Accounting practices

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certifications are a plus

• Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and execution skills

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail

• Solid understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
