Van Loon Industries Marketing & Sales Support Specialist in Shelby Twp, Michigan

We are recruiting a Marketing & Sales Support Specialist to work directly with our general manager. This position includes interaction with office administration, engineering, and production personnel as well as customers and suppliers. It is a hybrid role that combines responsibilities related to estimating and sales support. Sales support activities with be focused on marketing campaigns and sales strategies using Monday.com, a Customer Relationship management (CRM) software. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of customer interaction, technical analysis, and strategic planning.

Since 1948, Van Loon Industries (VLI), has worked to the exacting standards of specialized industries creating low to medium volume and custom projects for nuclear, defense, transportation, trade show exhibits, food grade and pharmaceutical grade products. Our projects demonstrate our expertise in long, heavy forming (up to 22') as well as the ability to handle the complexity and accuracy required of high precision, light material fabrication. VLI is an industry leader in precision custom manufacturing with the equipment and experience to guide our clients through their most challenging stainless, aluminum and carbon steel fabrication project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong math skills
  • Attention to detail and deadlines with high degree of accuracy
  • Customer service or administrative experience
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on essential Excel skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and self-sufficient
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Highly dependable and organized team player with a positive attitude
  • High level of integrity and discipline
  • Ability to build rapport with customers & suppliers
  • High school graduate minimum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of customer service success
  • Two years' work experience (preferably in a B2B setting), two or more years applicable college or technical training, or a combination of work and education in a related field
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes through work experience in manufacturing: metal fabrication experience a plus
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and communicate effectively across diverse work groups
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches or product specifications is preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage and track multiple responsibilities
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies, campaigns, and digital marketing
  • Understanding sales processes and techniques
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and CRM software (Monday.com experience preferred)
