Sr. Financial Analyst

We are looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Shelby team!

As our Sr. Financial Analyst you will be responsible for the management and reporting of financial data. This includes preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing a company’s accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures. You will analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance. You will also maintain accounting policies and practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations.

Your Challenge

  • Ensure accurate costs are maintained for all products and raw materials. Facilitate communication with appropriate parties to correct any discrepancies found on Bills of Materials or Routings

  • Work on streamlining all templates within the Finance departments for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Develop standard overhead and labor rates for use in product costing.

  • Analyze costs for new products, components and assemblies.

  • Perform product-cost analysis on specific products when requested.

  • Analyze variances from Budget and advise management of situations needling attention.

  • Analyze Purchase Prices Variances (PPV).

  • Process manufacturing transactions, analyze variances & report results.

  • Perform analysis of aged, excess, and obsolete inventory.

  • Prepare standard weekly, monthly, and annual cost reports. Create new reports when necessary.

  • General ledger account reconciliations & analysis required.

  • Prepare appropriate journal entries.

  • Compile & analyze financial information.

  • Assist Cost Accounting Manager with monthly close, reporting and financial statement preparation.

  • Assist with preparation of annual budget.

  • Responsible for annual fixed asset audit.

  • Provide financial support to manufacturing leaders.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 6+ years experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment

  • 6 years of financial analysis including product cos, variances, inventor, and account reconciliation.

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
