Kuehne+Nagel National Aerospace Operational Manager in Shannon, Ireland

We are looking for someone to further enhance Kuehne + Nagel Ireland Aerospace Product. In the National Air Logistics Operations & Development Aerospace role, you act as a product & business manager of the Kuehne + Nagel Aerospace team with primary focus on contributing to the overall Aerospace operational excellence & product development.

Your Role

The position will ensure that appropriate expertise is provided to our customers, extended marketplace & Aerospace operations. All parties will feel leading edge & optimised service-orientated solutions with knowledge & know-how provided with respect to the movement of high value/time sensitive aerospace products. You provide technical input & know-how to further enhance our National Aerospace Ireland operations teams, additionally you provide technical support to Kuehne + Nagel’s Aerospace teams by developing customers, support RFQ processes with support and consultation of Kuehne + Nagel’s existing and potential aerospace customers in case of supply chain requests. This is a full-time position that requires weekly travelling between our offices in Shannon & Dublin.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define and monitor KPIs with operations that will be used to monitor our performance: Be responsible to keep the system dedicated to monitor our products, while operations manage it with the network, and properly working in conjunction with other company’s systems in interaction with the IT department

  • Standardize and enhance the existing products and maintain all documentation and process flows. Ensure the documentation available online is always up-to-date.

  • Enable innovation to be rolled-out in the Network Build-up a knowledge database containing supply data sheets, validation reports, brochures, presentations, case studies, questionnaires, newsletters and articles. Supply this material and support the Aerospace Product Team and Industry Knowledge Centre in Schindellegi;

  • Gather information and trends in the industry and feed back to the Aerospace Product Team to ensure that KN’s portfolio of aerospace supply chain solutions will be enhanced frequently and stays at the forefront of the logistics industry;

  • You will perform regular audits (process, procedures, trainings, operations) to make sure that all Regions are working in line with the Global Guidelines;

  • ‘Face’ and oversee customer auditing of Kuehne + Nagel’s warehouses and equipment and act as consultant to the quality departments of Kuehne + Nagel when re-auditing stations;

  • Oversee and cross-check deviations that are received as a result of time sensitive shipments so that Kuehne + Nagel will be seen by its customers as a high-quality professional product/service provider that implements & lives by the CAPA process;

  • Overall responsible to grow the Aerospace market share and Aerospace products.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Significant experience in or (Air) Logistics, or achieved a freight forwarding certification;

  • Minimum two years of management experience; preferably in the Transport and/or Logistics sector, ideally with a focus on Airfreight.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: The ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and operations, to achieve product goals.

  • Data Analysis: Utilizing data analysis tools and techniques to make data-driven decisions and optimize product performance. Also utilizing analysis for training needs, structure and design to deliver/conduct trainings accordingly (a good knowledge of training methods and training experience is necessary).

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to various stakeholders, both internally and externally. Same applies for presentation skills to convince with existing Aerospace products.

  • Problem-Solving: The capacity to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions, particularly in high-stress situations.

  • Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing aerospace industry.

  • Intrinsic motivation & Collaboration: Proactive and self-motivated attitude, ability to live team spirit in sharing global Aerospace knowledge.
