Description

The Cloud based Product Manager is a critical role on the digital technology and product management team.

The Value Stream Product Manager will serve as a critical role with one or more scrum teams. With a solid shared vision and understanding of the roadmap and features defined by the Product/Platform Product Manager, the Value Stream Product Manager ensures Goals, Initiatives, Product Epics and Epics are created in alignment with the vision and strategy of Commercial HVAC and the overall Product. The Value Stream Product Manager will work closely with the Product/Platform Manager, and our business unit stakeholders and customers to ensure roadmap alignment. The Value Stream Product Manager will also work closely with Value Stream Technical Leads, Designers, and Technical Product Owners (TPO) to ensure the teams backlog is alignment with the product goals. The Product Manager should facilitate workshops and strategy sessions with our business partners to continually facilitate roadmap evolution.

The role may be paired and need to work closely with other Value Stream Product Managers, who are responsible for developing the overall product vision, as well as ideating, researching, defining, prioritizing, and documenting product requirements and designs at the feature level for other related Value Streams. The product team jointly is responsible for the product roadmap, release planning, feature definition and strong customer advocacy.

Carrier is the leading global provider of healthy, safe and sustainable building and cold chain solutions. The TPM role will serve on a product team focused on digital solutions leveraging edge and IoT technologies on either the intelligent buildings or cold chain space.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Define Value Stream Product vision and deliver roadmaps and epics to Value Stream Technical Leads and Technical Product Owners.

  • Collaborate with hands-on development team, product team, and design team in support of various platform/services capabilities surrounding Abound

  • Understand business' overall software applications' portfolio, growth priorities, and success measures to craft solutions for features provided as a service

  • Take ownership over product items and help lead all initiatives needed to roll out – technical requirements, business needs, etc.

  • Delivers solutions to meet customer needs, ensuring technical feasibility & scalability of new initiatives through successful deployments & continuous delivery

  • Partner with adjacent Product Managers to understand shared product vision and short- & long-term roadmap

  • Partner with Product/Platform Product Manager, other Value Stream Product Managers, Designers, and Solutions Architects to translate business needs into clear Initiatives, Product Epics, and Epics/Features that can be consumed by the teams.

  • Ensure Epics meet acceptance criteria before deployment.

  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate with business stakeholders and QA team to validate and confirm acceptance.

  • Report progress on feature and epic delivery to Product/Platform Product Manager and Business Stakeholders. Report progress on quarterly goals, initiatives and commitments to Product/Platform Product Manager and Business Stakeholders.

  • Be an active participant in Quarterly Product Increment Planning as well as other strategy and planning sessions with business stakeholders.

  • Effectively communicate and facilitate tradeoff decisions, e.g. choice between 2 methodologies – to product & tech so decision can be made on approach with business stakeholders.

Second cloud responsibilities:

  • Manage vendor to run the day-to-day cloud operations.

  • Cloud resource management include provision, deprovision, patch, backup, recovery etc

  • Monitoring the cloud platform and related applications, design the operation architecture, review with global cloud foundry team.

  • Lead the troubleshooting and service restore. For any security issue, lead the incident engagement, analysis, remediation.

  • Bridge the local vendor with Global cloud foundry team, provide the report to conduct regular review.

Required experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager for digital software/SaaS applications

  • Including experience with Cloud (AWS preferred) and Edge or IoT products

  • Strong customer centric experience, focusing in product usability, user experience (UX)

  • Extensive experience gathering and delivering product roadmaps & requirements (writing Epics, user stories, etc.)

  • Strong experience in Global Agile & SDLC environments (utilizing Jira or Aha! for reporting and tracking)

  • Pre-existing experience and/or demonstrated aptitude for learning digital tools such as Aha!, Jira, Figma, Confluence, Miro, LucidChart, etc

  • Experience working with remote and globally distributed teams

Required cloud experience:

  • 3+ years hands-on experience of AWS and Ali cloud operation

  • Expert level understanding the public cloud infrastructure, and related network, storage, database, security operations etc

  • Proficient with command-line and scripting tool.

  • Understanding of enterprise IT operation model and framework, know the enterprise cloud governance.

  • Familiar with the AWS and Ali cloud landing zone design.

  • Knowledge of multi-cloud security architecture and governance.

Additional Skills:

  • AWS Serverless environment preferred

  • Previous development background preferred

  • Strong Edge experience preferred

  • Detail oriented

  • Passion for and understanding of technology – working knowledge of modern, cloud-based technology. Distributed computing expertise a bonus.

  • Great communication – you can translate business needs into product requirements and communicate across product and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and actionable.

  • Business acumen – desire to understand how every new feature delights customers and impacts the business

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a world-class school in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Master’s degree in applicable discipline highly desired.

  • Agile Product Owner and/or Scrum Master certified.

  • Cloud related certification is a plus
