Universal Products & Experiences globally drives expansion of the company’s intellectual properties, franchises, characters and stories through innovative physical and digital products, content, and consumer experiences. Role Purpose

Support NBCUniversal’s businesses with respect to compliance with the Global Brand Standards (GBS) audit and risk management program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) licensee factory audit reports and corrective action evidence to determine factory waiver program eligibility.

  • Serve as a contact and resource for the business unit, particularly as it relates to China, for the GBS factory waiver program.

  • Initiate and send out Waiver approval letters.

  • Work closely with GBS Directors to support ongoing optimization for the Waiver program processes and workflows.

  • Verify China audit finding closures and appropriately handle the communications with the auditing firm(s) and factories as needed.

  • Review product safety test reports, specific to China, to existing standards and handle communication with local Licensees and product development teams.

  • In close partnership with the GBS Directors, provide input into the targeted on-site factory spot check inspection program, including but not limited to arranging Spot Checks, sending out email communication following up with licensees/factories/Category teams, record tracking, working with global third-party auditors as needed, etc.

  • Work with GBS Directors to update audit report template and/or auditor guidelines, when necessary.

  • Create and maintain tracking documents for all the projects that are being worked on including Waiver review, Product Safety, Spot Checks, etc., review progress and analyze trends with manager on a weekly basis.

  • Track timelines of inspection processes, including third-party auditor schedules, report delivery, and documentation in database.

  • Manage the GBS team responsible for coordinating the digital review process and documentation for factories.

  • Support ad-hoc GBS-related projects as needed, including but not limited to supporting database testing.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in ethical supply chain due diligence or other compliance-related work preferably with specific experience in labor, occupational health and safety and environmental standards at an international level.

  • International and domestic experience as audit team leader of social and environmental audits within supply chains.

  • Experience in factory monitoring program development and process management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor rights, occupational health and safety and environmental issues.

  • Experience in licensing, consumer products, global supply chains, manufacturing and distribution and operational matters.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.

  • Experience influencing key stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational environmental health and safety or related study.

  • 10% international travel and domestic travel as needed.

  • Strong computer skills. Experience working with an EMIS software database and Windows.

  • Must be willing to work full-time from the office in Shanghai, China

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation

     

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree in in occupational environmental health and safety or related study will be a plus.
