Job Description:
Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and proactive License Compliance Manager to oversee and drive customer and partner license compliance efforts across the ASEAN and China regions. This role will serve as the bridge between the sales team, internal compliance teams, and customers/partners to ensure that VMware licenses are properly managed, adhered to, and enforced, while minimizing compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities :
License Compliance Management :
Lead efforts to ensure customers and partners comply with licensing agreements across ASEAN and China.
Collaborate with sales teams to ensure accurate license transactions, renewals, and tracking.
Monitor and audit customer/partner license usage and address any discrepancies or violations.
Collaboration with Sales Teams :
Partner with sales teams to educate and advise on licensing terms and compliance requirements.
Work closely with sales leadership to identify and address compliance risks during contract negotiations and sales activities.
Conduct post sales license compliance enforcement with partners and customers
Internal Team Coordination :
Act as the liaison between the internal license compliance team and the sales/business teams to align on compliance goals, policies, and processes.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and product teams to ensure full alignment and enforcement of compliance standards.
Training & Education :
Develop and deliver training materials on licensing policies and best practices for internal stakeholders, customers, and partners in the region.
Process Improvement :
Continuously evaluate and improve license compliance processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, adapting to regional needs and regulatory changes.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software license compliance, preferably in the ASEAN and China markets.
Strong understanding of software licensing models, contract law, and compliance regulations.
Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, legal, finance, and technical teams.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Fluency in English and Mandarin (preferred) or other regional languages.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with global software vendors or in a multinational company.
Knowledge of regional regulatory environments and compliance standards.
