The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Purpose of the Position:

  • Act as site leader to manage IT operations at RHQ offices (Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong). Engage RHQ users to capture new IT demands.

  • Support IT operation in Asia region (Japan, Korea, Singapore, India).

  • Support local deployment of global IT initiatives.

  • Drive IT service quality improvement in CI AP sites

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Act as site leader of China RHQ offices

  • Monitor IT service performance in CI offices. Identify potential IT issues impacting business activities

  • Manage case escalation to support business priorities

  • Engage RHQ business partners to capture new IT demand.

  • Respond to business partner requests. Solve customer problems by analyzing situations to find common issues, identifies root cause(s) and develops effective solutions

  • Manage local IT policies, processes. Respond to Business Partner and IT leaders’ questions about a process or technology

  • Collaborate IT Service Lines to deliver IT service in CI offices. Ensure IT services meet business demand

  • Support to IT operations in CI locations. Ensure IT provides quality services to support business activities

  • Collaborate Service Line in delivering IT service in AP CI locations

  • Build and maintain CI IT operation process and monitor service performance

  • Drive PEx and cost reduction effort in AP locations

  • Support to IT projects in AP locations

  • Help coordination of Global IT initiatives impacting CI sites in region. Work with project team and local business/IT resource to ensure local deployment

  • Participates on project teams and represents the interests in area(s) of responsibility (e.g. messaging, voice, storage, desktop, etc.). Act as POC in project team.

  • Lead smaller local IT projects. Participate regional business project as an IT contact point (ex. office move, badge system upgrade …)

  • Support to regional specific IT solutions/services. Work with local service providers to ensure service quality and performance

  • Liaison of IT Risk Management in CI locations

  • Ensure that confidentiality and protection of information is built into applications and processes.

  • Act as the IT contact for local Business Continuity Plan coordinators.

  • Engagement with end users

  • Manage communication/training to office users on IT initiative, process and policy

  • Organize/provide technical training to business users on Corning’s processes and specific applications

  • Keep up with latest technologies and suggest how to apply the technology in the business
