Electrical Production Engineer

Purpose of the position

Electrical Production Engineer works with a global e-vehicle machine project team to make sure E-vehicle machines are introduced and produced well in Shanghai Plant. Defines and assesses the overall safety management process of e-vehicle machine manufacture. Defines and works out how the product will be manufactured and assembled on the production line, ensuring the right quantity of components/products are delivered and aligned to support the speed of the production line.Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements including new product introduction and manufacturing process flow design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs, with lean methodology and PE tools such as VSM analysis principle and skill,6 sigma tools, MES and Andon system in the shop floor, Bottleneck Analysis, Heijunka, Fishbone diagrams, A3, etc

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Establish an E-vehicle machine project plan and continuously trace milestones based on the Business Unit’s valid processes( Phases, deliverables, milestones, quality gates, etc.)

  • Safety management of the whole e-vehicle machine manufacturing process. (Storage, assembly, testing, shipping...).

  • Management of all internal and external stakeholders of the E-vehicle machine project.

  • Responsible for the fixture, jig, and spreader design, tracking the manufacturing schedule, and technical guidance.

  • Responsible for manufacturing technology andquality problems in the process of analysis, and put forward solutions.

  • Manage the new production introduction ensuring cost, schedule, budget, and performance requirements are met.

  • Responsible for process design, preparing SOP, reviewing PBOM, and maintenance in the ERP system.

  • Optimize line layout, implement lean production, and optimize material replenishment flow. Ensure the process provides a high level of safety and ergonomic compliance.

  • Review all issues of the process to generate the direction or solution. To work together with cross-function to do troubleshooting with quality tools like fish bone, 5 why, etc.

  • Draft and design plant layout, product layout, and material flow with lean principles.

  • Set up the product standard time and optimization, andcapacity analysis.

  • Share lessons learned with other plants, including technical information, component drawings, and specifications.

  • Continually improve the assembly quality and efficiency by optimizing the assembly process.

  • Local components testing for qualification purposes.

  • During the production process designing and improvement, taking ergonomics into account and reducing the risk of OHS from the source.

  • Perform the safety production responsibility system through effective implementation of the safety production requirements as well as rules and regulations of the company;

  • Strictly abide by company’s safety rules; ensure the implementation of safety as a part of main responsibility in accordance with the company’s EHS requirements; responsible for daily operation, safety, and environment and properly using PPE;

  • Other tasks assigned by the Supervisor

What you’ll need to succeed

Experience

  • 5+ years of PE experience in the manufacturing industry

  • 2+ years’ High voltage electrical machine or battery manufacture experience.

  • Experience in the automotive industry is a plus

  • Experience in automatic/ manual assembly process

  • Experience in smart factories and digital manufacturing systems is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor or above in Electrical engineering

Skills

  • Problem or critical situation-solving skill❑Cost-saving oriented thinking

  • E-vehicle machine manufacturing or related experience

  • Basic production quality knowledge, and project management.

  • Reading and understanding of drawings

  • Technical background is better.

  • Familiar with lean production and tools/methodology.

  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient solutions.

  • Skilled in AutoCAD etc drawing software.

  • Familiar with the knowledge of ergonomics.

  • Good team spirit and communication skills.

  • Good oral and written English skills.
