Emerson Technical Support Specialist in Shakopee, Minnesota
We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist in the Pressure, Temperature and Remote Seal team to join us at Emerson! The position will be based in Shakopee, MN. Primary responsibilities include providing technical support, support quality initiatives, assist with product development and customer advocacy, and reinforce training sessions while providing technical expertise.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Provide Technical Product Support
Provide intermediate level pre-sale and post-sale technical support for designated product and digital communication types: can perform and direct efficient troubleshooting to resolve customer issues. Populate technical database information for global support activities
Use informational tools to support customer product application issues
Responsible for hands-on evaluation of new and existing products
Support Quality Initiatives
Early catch up of any product and applications issues; pull-in product company resources as needed to quickly resolve all issues
Apply safety principles to all aspects of job
Ensure that Rosemount’s standard quality system is applied to report any issues (CAPA system, Rapid Response, etc.)
Facilitate Failure Analysis and Advanced Warranty Replacements as necessary
Participate in continuous improvement programs.
Support Product Development and Customer Advocacy
Maintains close ties with Marketing and Designer Engineer to understand and promote business unit initiatives
Review product literature and provide feedback to marketing/literature groups
Facilitate information necessary to set-up and administer special product options
Initiate vendor quotations as required; Expedite order process when necessary
Support Training Session and Provide Technical Expertise
- Perform technical product training for technical users to include end-customers, Global product support groups, Sales and Marketing, and Service representatives; Supports the development of training material for regional and global initiatives

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Technical Degree with two years of relevant work experience OR bachelor’s degree in business combined with at least 4 years relevant work experience OR 2-year technical degree with electrical/mechanical emphasis and 6 years related experience
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Troubleshooting skills
Analog low voltage experience
Mechanical, or Industrial degree
Field experience with industrial instrumentation
Familiar with HART protocol

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $75,000-95,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
