Scott County Child Mental Health Therapist in Shakopee, Minnesota
Job Summary The eligible register developed from this posting may be used to fill future FT and PT vacancies within this classification. We are currently seeking to fill two positions: T he school-based mental health clinician will provide mental health therapy to students within two elementary schools within the Shakopee School District. The day treatment clinician will provide mental health therapy to clients within the Reflections Day Treatment Program in Carver. Hiring range goes up to $93,207 DOQ. Pay range shown is 2024 rates. Essential Duties Conducts Diagnostic Assessments. Develops and implements treatment plans according to agency and regulatory requirements. The school-based therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy to children in an elementary school setting. The day treatment therapist provides therapy (individual, group and family) and group skills to children who have a mental health diagnosis and severe emotional and behavioral difficulties in a day treatment setting. May provide in-home therapy to families. Builds positive relationships with students, families, and school staff. Provides education, consultation, and training for school staff and community partners. Provides crisis intervention, ongoing safety planning, and intervention. Develops and maintains professional relationships with referral sources, including providing feedback and consultation regarding specific clientele. Consults with billing staff and health plan representatives in order to obtain authorization for appropriate mental health services for clients and reimbursement to the fullest extent available for the agency. Maintains working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations related to outpatient therapy and assessment services. Acquires and utilizes up-to-date research, education and training in the delivery of ethical and competent mental health intervention. Maintains current records and documentation within the client file. Works the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours ) to communicate with supervisors, customers, vendors, and any other person or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals. Ensures access to ongoing mental health services during the summer months to promote continuity of care for clients. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Requires current Mental Health Professional (MHP) licensure OR the ability to obtain MHP licensure to practice independently within 12 months AND 2 years of experience in providing professional therapy and diagnostic assessment. The incumbent shall possess a valid driver's license and provide a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities. Selection Process Selection for this position will be based on a minimum qualifications screening and rating of training and experience.
