OverviewThe primary role of the Regional Design Manager is to support the plant design departments by providing professional leadership to the Design Managers within the Region. Additionally, the Regional Design Manager assists in supporting all design related needs for the company.
ResponsibilitiesEstablish, implement, and maintain regional Design Standards
Ensure company standards are met and being sustained.
Coordinate plant design needs and recruitment with the Regional and Area Managers.
Responsible for regional design training and development
Provide professional leadership and guidance to the Design Managers.
Conduct a weekly Design Managers call and monthly Designer update call.
Promote and maintain positive relationships with Design Managers and Designers through personal interaction.
Assist and support the design efforts in ensuring accuracy, productivity, optimization, and oversight.
Ensure continuous improvement on the utilization and maximization of the Design software.
Vendor Liaison to ensure maximum productivity from software and designer implementation.
Competencies
Read architectural plans to create Roof and Floor truss, and Wall Panel placement layouts.
MiTek, BC Framer, and iStruct.
Microsoft Software.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
QualificationsComponents design experience plus managerial experience or equivalent combination of design and managerial experience.
This is a remote position that will need to able to travel 30% of the time.
