Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe Park Ranger & Visitor Services Manager in Sequim, Washington
The Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge (DNWR), co-managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, seeks a full time Park Ranger and Visitor Center Manager to join our team. This position will work to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all visitors while fostering a deep appreciation for area and Refuge specific cultural and natural resources.
What you'll do:
Welcome visitors, answer questions, and provide interpretive talks about the Refuge's unique ecosystem and tribal co-management.
Oversee visitor safety and address any concerns or conflicts.
Maintain visitor amenities (trails, restrooms, signs) and perform basic repairs.
Respond to emergencies and potential hazards.
Contribute to administrative tasks, reporting, and planning initiatives.
Who you are:
A team player with at least 2 years of experience in park management, public service, or a related field.
Passionate about the outdoors and committed to environmental stewardship.
Excellent communicator with a knack for public engagement and education.
Resourceful and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in various tools and equipment, with a safety-first mindset.
Eager to learn about the Refuge's cultural and ecological significance.
Bonus points for:
Experience working with Native American Tribes.
Local knowledge of the Olympic Peninsula.
Emergency medical response training and outdoor certifications.
