Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe Park Ranger & Visitor Services Manager in Sequim, Washington

The Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge (DNWR), co-managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, seeks a full time Park Ranger and Visitor Center Manager to join our team. This position will work to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all visitors while fostering a deep appreciation for area and Refuge specific cultural and natural resources.

What you'll do:

  • Welcome visitors, answer questions, and provide interpretive talks about the Refuge's unique ecosystem and tribal co-management.

  • Oversee visitor safety and address any concerns or conflicts.

  • Maintain visitor amenities (trails, restrooms, signs) and perform basic repairs.

  • Respond to emergencies and potential hazards.

  • Contribute to administrative tasks, reporting, and planning initiatives.

Who you are:

  • A team player with at least 2 years of experience in park management, public service, or a related field.

  • Passionate about the outdoors and committed to environmental stewardship.

  • Excellent communicator with a knack for public engagement and education.

  • Resourceful and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in various tools and equipment, with a safety-first mindset.

  • Eager to learn about the Refuge's cultural and ecological significance.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working with Native American Tribes.

  • Local knowledge of the Olympic Peninsula.

  • Emergency medical response training and outdoor certifications.
