Join the UPMC Northwest Team as a Professional Staff Nurse (RN) to provide and coordinate high-quality patient care, uphold care standards, and collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes. This role emphasizes leadership, partnership, and a commitment to both the community and the nursing profession.
Responsibilities:
Build strong, productive relationships with patients, families, and team members.
Maintain a balance between work and personal life, modeling safe work hours and healthy habits.
Teach and guide patients, families, and new staff, using adult learning principles.
Serve as a preceptor, supporting the development of students and new staff.
Apply Relationship-Based Care principles to create a healing environment with holistic patient care plans.
Communicate patient conditions effectively to care providers and recommend care adjustments.
Ensure comprehensive, clear documentation for effective caregiver communication.
Engage in continuous professional development and unit-based shared governance.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, using research and evidence-based practices.
Ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning patients.
Active RN license or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) with BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Graduate nurses must pass licensure exam within 6 months of hire.
