UPMC Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Seneca, Pennsylvania

Join our compassionate team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Transitional Care Unit, where you'll provide essential, hands-on support to enhance the daily lives and well-being of our patients!

Shifts: Typically, 2p-10p & 10p-6a

Transitional Care Unit (TCU): The Unit is a patient focused unit bridging the patient care journey from inpatient care services to their next long-term living environment. TCU provides a multidisciplinary approach to nursing care, aligning a long-term care experience in a hospital-based unit, leading to a well-rounded experience for our patients & team members alike!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct resident care as directed by RN/LPN, including activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, dressing).

  • Document resident care and safety checks according to procedures.

  • Assist in unit tasks like passing meal trays, responding to call lights, and transporting residents.

  • Report equipment malfunctions and ensure cleanliness of resident rooms and department areas.

  • Perform routine tests (e.g., weights, vital signs) and assist with intake and output documentation.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with residents, staff, and families.

  • Actively participate in feedback, learning, and unit improvement activities.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques / long term care experience preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
