YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg Preschool Teacher Assistant, Bardmoor YMCA Preschool Academy in Seminole, Florida
Must have the following in order to apply:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of Six (6) months of experience in related field
- Must complete MODS prior to employment (Introductory Child Care Training, Part 1 and 2)
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to work a flexible schedule and extended hours, as needed
- Must be able to interact with toddlers and young children for an extended period of time both indoors
- Able to plan, lead and participate in activities
**Required Screenings: Drug Testing/Screening (Pre-Employment/Random); Background Checks (Local/State/Federal) and Fingerprint Level II Check. Drug Free Workplace.
Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Pre-School Teachers with classroom coverage, providing a quality experience to children that focuses on the company's values
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines
- Leads activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling
- Establishes and enforces rules to promote positive behavior
- Attends to children's basic needs including supervising meal times, playground times and free play
**Work Environment: Pre-School environment.
