Job Summary:

As the Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager , you will be responsible for leading, mentoring and directing hourly and salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety activities supporting three large assembly, logistics and component machining facilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and support Facility Safety and Sustainability strategy in line with Division and Corporate EHS strategic goals

  • Lead a team of Occupational Health and Wellness Nurses providing preventative and reactive support to the factories; oversee the employee wellness program

  • Lead the implementation of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF), Injury Prevention Plans, & the EHS Management System

  • Communicate strategic plans and technical information to senior leaders, peers, team members, suppliers; support and advise other EHS professionals, managers

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with respect to environmental impact assessments, waste management, and sustainability practices.

  • Oversee the plant security systems, which includes a large team of contractors, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Provide EHS guidance, direction and leadership for all EHS Essential element requirements, divisional playbooks and related safety cultural initiatives.

  • Audit safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions. Maintain ISO certifications for Environmental and Safety.

  • Complete and/or review reports for submission to the EPA or OSHA

  • Oversee the review and updating of all safety and documentation including Safety Data Sheets, emergency response plans, and training documents

  • Oversee the development and delivery of training for employees that could include topics such as fire safety, first aid, and equipment use

  • Analyze data and identify trends across the business unit to create strategies and action plans to mitigate risk.

  • Stay up to date on federal, state, and local EHS laws and regulations including OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH, EPA, and TCEQ

  • Assist Divisional team with developing and leading initiatives as assigned

What You Will Have:

Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations in accordance with OSHA and Enterprise standards.

Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
