Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to work at our operations in Sechelt, BC. The mine operates on Sisha'lh first nations land. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the day-to-day maintenance, installation, and repair of plant equipment and machinery; and for supervising and supporting the maintenance personnel. The maintenance supervisor will support the maintenance manager in ensuring a robust preventative maintenance program is in place. This position will be 7 days on/ 7 days off rotation.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Lead with Safety through Employee Engagement
Ensure plant reliability through execution of an effective maintenance program
Supervise and delegate work to maintenance crew and on-site contractors
Plan down time and organize crew and equipment for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance; coordinate with the production department to prioritize work
Coordinate resources, manpower, and materials for new equipment installations
Identify, source and order required replacement parts
Maintain equipment repair history records
Determine the cause of breakdowns and provide improvement recommendations to reduce downtime and costs
Enforce compliance with safety rules, policies, and procedures
Who we are looking for:
Trades Qualification, or Engineering educational background is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
Knowledge of safety regulations and mining codes
Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
Proven supervisory and leadership skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Work Environment:
Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
