Robert Half Staff Accountant in Secaucus, New Jersey
Description We are seeking a staff accountant to join our team in our retail clothing and accessories industry located in Secaucus, New Jersey. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a staff accountant, you will be responsible for handling both accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank and account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger. You will also be required to make journal entries and perform light property accounting using SAP.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the process of accounts payable and receivable
• Conduct high volume bank reconciliations
• Maintain the general ledger consistently
• Make regular journal entries for financial transactions
• Carry out light property accounting tasks
• Utilize SAP for accounting and financial purposes
• Ensure account reconciliation is carried out accurately
• Monitor and manage month-end close activities. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a Staff Accountant role.
• Proven experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger maintenance.
• Experience in recording Journal Entries.
• Demonstrated ability in handling Month End Close processes.
• Proficiency in using SAP software.
• Experience in Account Reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Understanding of retail industry, specifically Clothes & Access, is a plus.
