Join the fast-growing Amazon Gift Cards Design team, where we create innovative designs for electronic and physical gift cards, packaging, web content, and advertising. We are seeking a conceptual and strategic thinker and visual storyteller to elevate our gift card experiences. As a Video/Motion Designer, you will play a key role in bringing our designs to life through dynamic animations and unique video advertisements. Your work will create joy and delight for customers by animating gift cards, crafting storyboards, and developing rich, engaging motion graphics.
You are an organized self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and continuously seeks ways to improve, optimize and test new experiences.. As a creative motion lead,, you excel at collaborating with designers, product managers, and leaders while adhering to Amazon’s principles and brand guidelines. You’ll showcase your expertise by inspiring new animation styles and crafting visuals that captivate global audiences.
In this role, you will collaborate with creative, marketing, and product teams to design and produce engaging videos and animations. Test and use data and insights to tailor animations for maximum impact. Set the standard for world-class animations, leveraging your expert knowledge of animation principles, motion graphics, and attention to detail.
Key job responsibilities
• Create storyboards, sketches, and propose new concepts informed by creative direction, trend research, and customer insights.
• Collaborate with creative teams to evolve static concepts into compelling motion designs, driving the visual storytelling process.
• Apply strong illustration skills to enhance motion development, leading and pitching innovative ideas that inspire and push design boundaries.
• Lead cross-team conceptual development, serving as a strategic thought leader to deliver unmatched customer experiences that balance design, business goals, content, and technology.
• Optimize and own the video templates and production pipeline to support fast-paced turnarounds and maintain efficiency.
• Oversee and maintain best practices for the global Gift Card motion style guide and long-term vision.
• Generate fresh ideas, mentor teammates, and actively engage in constructive critique sessions with professionalism and respect.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, maintaining ownership of deadlines and ensuring pipeline deliverables stay on track.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of design experience
Have an available online portfolio
Experience working with agile development teams (agile/scrum/kanban)
Experience in Adobe Creative Suit applications, with high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat using macOS
Fluency in best practices for animation, motion graphics and storyboarding
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with e-commerce, search, social, and other major application types and their UX patterns
Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touch points on different platforms and devices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
