Amazon UX Designer, Content Systems in Seattle, Washington

Content Systems is seeking a Sr. UX Designer to design Amazon’s content creation and image rendering tools, discover opportunities to integrate generative AI, and develop customer-obsessed, innovative solutions that tackle Content Creators’ biggest challenges. In this role, you’ll develop the most intuitive and efficient experience for Content Creators, enabling them to seamlessly create millions of pieces of engaging content for Amazon’s customers. You’ll work closely with product partners, software engineers, data scientists, and Amazon merchandisers to define and improve the end-to-end workflow for marketing content creation at Amazon. Your design solutions will optimize delivery of content and assets, increase content quality, and improve interactions with our tools. You'll have opportunities to travel internationally to collaborate with global teammates and your work will continuously improve the experiences of millions of customers on one of the highest traffic consumer websites in the world.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with product and engineering to prioritize and manage work into near-term and long-term phases.

  • Synthesize consumer insights, business opportunities, product analytics, and competitive intelligence into concepts that scale.

  • Create design artifacts like user flows, wireframes, visual mocks, and prototypes to communicate your ideas.

*Present work, socialize ideas, and influence stakeholders.

  • Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the product development to ship results.

  • Work with teammates to identify and track UX design success metrics.

A day in the life

You can expect to:

  • Participate in research and usability studies to identify key customer problems

  • Design wireframes and prototypes demonstrating experiences that solve customer problems

  • Experiment with evolving technologies, such as machine learning and Generative AI

The Content Systems team owns the foundation of merchandising tools at Amazon. We aim to provide Amazon Content Creators with the most seamless experiences when creating and scheduling content for Amazon’s customers. We supply our users content metrics to make educated business decisions that drive billions in revenue annually. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • At least 3 years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, or similar UX-related role

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), design, or equivalent professional experience.

  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience in user-centered design solutions and product design innovation. Must illustrate solving for multi-platform UX challenges and demonstrate scalable, user-friendly design solutions.

  • Advanced knowledge of UX best practices, such as information architecture, user-centered design processes, principles, and techniques.

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Must be able to present to senior stakeholders with sound design rationale.

  • Experience in creating prototypes and highly detailed wireframes

  • Ability to work in an iterative environment and synthesize feedback from multiple stakeholders

  • Advanced skill level in the standard tools of the design trade, e.g., Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

  • Ability to positively influence change through inspirational design, solid rationale, supporting data and diplomacy.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Experience working with marketing and creative teams.

  • Experience planning and executing effective customer research, either solo or in partnership with teammates.

  • An understanding of (or passion to learn) AI technologies, basic machine learning principles, and broader capabilities, coupled with technical understanding for effective collaboration with engineers, architects, and AI/ML practitioners in both strategic and tactical discussions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
