Key Qualifications

  • Day to day work involves understanding billings data pipeline systems developed by engineering teams for ASE products.

  • Carry out data profiling and understand schema, data interrelationships, and data flows.

  • Proven skills with SQL, Hadoop, Scala, Spark, Python, Java and related frameworks.

  • Experience with source control technologies like Git and CI/CD tools.

  • Document test plans, writing test case automation and working closely with other teams (engineering, project management, etc.), bug reporting and isolation.

  • This position demands a self-motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment.

  • Be dynamic and prepared to test/regress a high volume of changes on a day-to-day basis.

  • Ability to automate testing efforts.

  • Demonstrate excellent bug reporting skills and the ability to communicate clearly with third parties.

  • Interest in ASE products, improving ASE data, and learning ASE tools and technologies.

  • Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills.

  • Possess exceptional analytical skills in test case design and bug diagnosis.

  • Good soft skills esp. listening and collaborating with partners.

Description

The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) Analytics Engineering QA team is responsible for ensuring the Quality and integrity of the data collected and reported on customer experience data. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer who is interested in ASE products, wants to make a difference to them and to Apple as a whole, improving the data quality, and learn ASE ground breaking tools and technologies. This role involves developing automated testing tools to test and validate data pipeline systems.

Education & Experience

BS/BA/MS/MA degree in any of the STEM majors preferred

Additional Requirements

  • 3+ yrs of Big Data technologies (e.g. HDFS, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Voldemort, Cassandra, Druid)

  • 3+ yrs of experience in automation development and Quality Assurance

  • 3+ yrs Knowledge in Python, Java and/or Scala. Interest and experience on coding is a must for this position.

  • 3+ yrs experience with Big Data query tools (e.g. Hive, HDFS,, SparkSQL, HiveQL)

  • 3+ yrs experience with near real-time (NRT) and Batch data pipelines Experience closed system testing

  • 3+ yrs experience Client-Server products Knowledge in Data Quality, Data Profiling and Data Integration tools.

  • 3 + yrs experience in data migrations, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500.00 and $243,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
