Business Operations is the glue of DE&E Technology, with a relentless focus on connecting all the pieces of the business. All the components that make up the organization – engineering, product, design, operations, support and more – come together and move the business forward with oversight, effective prioritization, and mentorship. This team synthesizes information from across the business to ensure leaders are armed with all the necessary data before making strategic and financial decisions. From forecasting, funding, tracking, and reporting on projects, to ways of working, and resource management, we have visibility and input into all aspects of the team.

As a Technical Project Manager II you’ll be responsible for partnering with Program and Engineering managers who deliver The Walt Disney Company’s world class identity experience. You’ll also function as an interface between Product and other Engineering teams, participating in coordination, alignment, road mapping, and the overall seamless delivery of best-in-class consumer applications.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Responsible for developing a roadmap for the team and keeping it in line with the priorities defined by product

  • Complete several projects concurrently, with a remote & distributed delivery team(s), while balancing opposing priorities

  • Facilitate and solidify project processes by creating, managing, and updating documentation

  • Keep collaborators informed of day-to-day project statuses, updates, and risks

  • Cultivate relationships across engineering, product, program and technical teams while serving directly as the end-to-end liaison

  • Facilitate technical meetings; follow the discussions in order to summarize and gather outcomes.

  • Track team progress against deliverables and work with the team to identify solutions to get back on-track when the team falls behind schedule.

  • Work with delivery team(s) to create delivery timelines, and partner across various workstreams and business leaders to sequence the work based on priorities and dependencies. Track and report key program metrics, informing partners as appropriate.

  • Facilitate scope of technical inputs and outputs as dependencies for delivery teams, resolve gaps and create program landmarks that ensure work is sequenced across teams.

  • Collaborate with other TPMs to understand cross-team dependencies, prioritize work to avoid impediments, identify single points of failure for discussion and decision.

  • Attend project meetings and communicate program progress against defined breakthroughs and delivery risks to project stakeholders.

  • Ensure transparency to status, issue resolution, and risk mitigation. Proactively drive risk mitigation and contingency planning, along with issue resolution.

  • Be ready to lead teams to perform Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning's, backlog refinements, retrospectives, and demos

  • Provide guidance to teams on Agile efficiency, support their self-organization and Agile framework knowledge growth.

  • Provide guidance to teams towards data-driven decisions, using tools and techniques (e.g., Burnup Charts, Sprint Reports, Initiative Reports) to maintain metrics that provide visibility for the team and use those metrics to identify team needs.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • 3+ years experience as a Project Manager handling large scale projects

  • Have technical literacy in order to be able to follow technical discussions and absorb technical documentation

  • Proficient understanding of technical architecture and workflow for system/domain of the team(s) and identify potential impacts to systems based on requirements

  • Experience running a consumer application development project through the entire SDLC

  • Knowledge of project management processes including Agile, Kanban, Waterfall

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $107,400 to $143,900 and in Santa Monica, CA is $102,500 to $137,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered
