This position reports to the director of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) within the Global Cybersecurity Services (GCS) organization. GCS is chartered with leading, inspiring, and supporting Starbucks to cultivate trust in our brand by ensuring confidentiality, integrity, & availability in every partner, customer & supplier experience.

This position contributes to Starbucks success by leading the evolution of governance, risk and compliance services and technology solutions that balance near-term business and technology needs and opportunities with long-term maturity targets, scalability, and operating cost. The technical product manager principal delivers the unique responsibility and business value of advancing a complex set of GRC services, in coordination with other GCS and Starbucks products and services. A successful technical product manager principal engages on strategic initiatives, accelerates operational readiness and ensures successful outcomes which directly advance GCS/GRC strategic goals and maturity. You should have wide-ranging technical and domain expertise among business and engineering partners to maximize the value of technology and services through thoughtful data-driven problem solving, crisp definition of MVP solutions, and cross-functional influence among peer technology teams and organizations.

As a technical product manager principal, GRC you will…

  • Lead impact analysis, facilitate planning, readiness, and design/development. You will work with governance and a wide range of technology and business stakeholders to achieve the target outcomes of new policies, standards, and configurations or material changes to existing control sets.

  • Lead engagements to achieve key GCS/GRC strategic outcomes. You will lead establishment, expansion and improvements in cross-functional GCS/GRC capabilities and services. You will be responsible for delivering organizational agnostic data and technology solutions while leading appropriate contingent staff and collaborating with partners who own and deliver services.

  • Act as a global champion. You will ensure appropriate scoping, planning and engagement with global partners with consideration for appropriate ownership and implementation models across all regions.

  • Influence and align strategic roadmaps. You will establish and maintain positive working relationships within cybersecurity, across Starbucks technology and global business teams. You will influence teams and leaders, achieving organizational alignment on roadmaps for GCS/GRC strategic initiatives. You will ensure appropriate planning for engagements and the successful transition to normal service operations.

  • Deliver technical expertise as a trusted advisor. You will provide advice and expertise on business, data, technology, and global industry frameworks, representing a global GCS/GRC strategy. You will work closely with compliance and risk management at all levels of the enterprise to improve Starbucks security and compliance posture.

  • Be accountable for the quality and success of the outcome your work – You will ensure processes are known, documented, and properly performed to produce consistent, timely, high-quality deliverables.

  • Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team. You work closely with GRC leadership to model and reinforce norms, Agile practices and promote overall partner engagement, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles and values.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field

  • Demonstrated ability to use analytics and optimization tools to inform product planning and prioritization (5+ years)

  • Demonstrated ability to work with design and engineering to deliver customer facing features (5+ years)

  • Hands on experience in developing roadmaps, priorities, features, story outlines, writing user stories, refining product

  • backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment with variety of stakeholders (7 years)

  • Managing product delivery and release in an agile environment (3 years)

  • Industry experience in a technology environment with a record of successfully delivering complex products (10+ years)
