Within Amazon’s Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team (FP&A), we enjoy a unique vantage point into everything happening within Amazon. As part of that, this role would be part of a team that is responsible for Company’s enterprise-wide financial planning & analytics environment.

As a team member, you'll have the opportunity to operate and engineer systems on a global scale, while touching and influencing large parts of the underlying AWS services. You'll be involved in the design and development of products that provide fully featured Finance infrastructures on demand.

You'll focus on operational excellence by implementing and integrating DevOps key methodologies, such as infrastructure as code and configuration management, and tools into the product architecture as capabilities for building Finance infrastructures. You'll improve and apply such practices and tools to help to innovate faster through automating and streamlining the software development and infrastructure management processes. You will become intimate with the architecture of our systems and will drive prioritization of operational issues.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically one week every two months. We work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant and alarms won't wake us up in the middle of the night. When this happens, we take action to ensure we will not get paged again for the same issue.

The team is dedicated to supporting new team members, you will grow in the team through one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews.

Typical tasks and responsibilities

· Administer & monitor multiple AWS Accounts.

· Solve both tactical and strategic problems simultaneously

· Resolve Problem Management and Resolution tickets

· Ensure environment security follows best practices

· AWS Administration and maintenance experience

· Act as the technical leader for application support and enhancement issues · Plan and schedule AWS administration projects; provide technical vision and leadership

· Monitor AWS Services and integration with other applications. Also to provide usage and performance metrics

· Perform some production support duties during off-hours, on rotation.

Key job responsibilities

· Perform some production support duties during off-hours, on rotation.

Solid AWS services experience (EC2, VPC, EBs, ASG, S3, Cloudwatch, Load Balancer, Lambda)

Continuous development and testing techniques along with documentation

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

  • Experience with Linux/Unix

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
